Venezuelan authorities have announced the arrest of three U.S. citizens, two Spaniards, and one Czech national on charges of plotting to destabilize the nation. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello disclosed that a significant cache of weapons was also confiscated during the operation.
This development follows recent sanctions imposed by the U.S. on 16 Venezuelan officials closely associated with President Nicolás Maduro, in reaction to his controversial election victory. In response, Spanish officials have sought further information from Caracas and have requested consular access to their detained nationals.
