The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has pledged to capture the notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji, known for his fearsome reputation in the Northwest. Turji has been linked to numerous attacks on residents in Zamfara and has recently demanded a staggering N30 million levy from locals for protection against further assaults.
In a statement to the press in Abuja, Musa characterized Turji as a “deranged” individual and expressed confidence in his capture. “It’s only a matter of time before we bring him to justice,” he asserted, emphasizing the urgency of tackling the levies imposed by Turji and other bandits.
Musa further remarked, “These bandits may feel empowered, but they are ultimately desperate. Even if they collect money, they struggle to utilize it, knowing it is stained with blood. We must unite with the armed forces and security agencies to restrict their movement within our communities.”
This commitment comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and restore peace in the troubled region.
