Chris Brown is facing a lawsuit from four individuals who allege that the singer and his entourage engaged in a violent assault following a concert in Fort Worth, Texas. The plaintiffs—Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and DaMarcus Powell—filed their lawsuit in Texas court on July 22, seeking damages of at least $50 million.
The lawsuit claims that the plaintiffs attended Chris Brown’s concert at Dickies Arena on July 20 and were invited to the artist’s VIP area after the performance. According to Charles Bush, after waiting 30 minutes for Brown to arrive, he complimented the singer on his performance. However, a comment from Brown’s entourage allegedly led to Brown instructing them to attack Bush.
The allegations detail physical assaults, including one entourage member reportedly punching Bush in the chest and another allegedly throwing a chair at his head. The lawsuit claims that other members of the entourage also assaulted Larry Parker, kicking him in the head and stomping on him for an extensive period. Additionally, both DaMarcus Powell and Joseph Lewis reportedly suffered injuries during the incident.
The legal action names Chris Brown alongside several co-defendants, including Live Nation Worldwide Inc., Live Nation Marketing Inc., rapper Markies Deandre “Yella Beezy” Conway, and individuals from the entourage identified as Sinko Ceej and Omololu Omari “Hood Boss” Akinlolu.
They are being sued for multiple charges, including assault and battery, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. An attorney representing the plaintiffs remarked that the circumstances of the case are “clear and egregious.”
As of now, there has been no comment from representatives of Live Nation or Chris Brown’s record label regarding the allegations.
