Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft has successfully returned to Earth, marking a significant milestone despite not carrying astronauts on its recent journey. The spacecraft was initially set to facilitate the first crewed test flight with NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams onboard. However, operational challenges have resulted in the delay of their return from the International Space Station (ISS) until February 2025, when they will travel aboard a different spacecraft.
The Starliner separated from the ISS and completed a six-hour journey back to Earth. During its re-entry, the spacecraft deployed parachutes to manage its descent and landed safely at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico. This development underscores the ongoing efforts in space exploration and the importance of safe and reliable spacecraft technology.
