The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, expressed serious concerns during a live interview about his experience with his child’s medical decisions, stating he was “tricked” into allowing his child to receive puberty blockers.
Musk described the situation as “evil,” arguing that it can lead to the manipulation of children who may be experiencing an identity crisis. “It’s very possible for adults to manipulate children,” he stated during his discussion with psychologist Jordan Peterson.
Recalling the events, Musk noted, “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier, during a time of confusion due to COVID-19. I was informed that Xavier might commit suicide.”
This revelation coincides with Musk’s decision to relocate SpaceX’s headquarters from California, prompted in part by the state’s recent legislation, Assembly Bill 1955, which allows schools to keep a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity confidential from their parents. This legislation was signed into law by California Governor Gavin Newsom on July 15, 2024.
In light of these developments, the spotlight is also on Vivian Jenna Wilson, Musk’s transgender daughter. Born Xavier in 2004 as a twin to her brother Griffin, Vivian attended a prestigious K-12 school in Santa Monica where tuition costs can reach $50,000 annually. Reports indicate she concealed her gender identity from her father for several years.
Vivian officially changed her name, adopting her mother Justine’s maiden name, at age 18 in 2022, as documented in court filings. She expressed in her petition to change both her name and legal gender that she “no longer wishes to be related” to Musk “in any way.” Subsequent legal documentation confirmed the change from Xavier Alexander Musk to Vivian Jenna Wilson, reflecting her new gender identity.
Vivian’s petition was filed just three days after her 18th birthday, with the court records made public shortly after Father’s Day. The relationship between Vivian and her father remains strained, as Musk has criticized her political views, suggesting her opinions stem from her education at a progressive school, leading her to believe that wealthy individuals are inherently evil.
