This will be the brothers’ first tour together since the band’s dramatic breakup in 2009. In their announcement, Oasis declared: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
Oasis disbanded in 2009 when Noel Gallagher decided to leave due to ongoing conflicts with Liam. The split was particularly contentious, marked by public disputes, including a notable libel suit filed by Liam against Noel in 2011. Over the years, various rumors of a reunion surfaced, notably in 2017, when the brothers were expected to perform together for a benefit concert in Manchester following a tragic incident. However, Noel’s absence from the event sparked further frustration from Liam, who publicly addressed the situation.
In 2020, Liam proposed that the brothers reunite for a charity event after the pandemic, but Noel remained focused on his band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, which released the album Council Skies in 2023. Meanwhile, Liam pursued his solo career, achieving success with albums including As You Were (2017) and C’mon You Know (2022).
