Victor Osimhen’s Future at Napoli in Flux Amid PSG Transfer Talks
Victor Osimhen appears set to remain at Napoli for another season as developments in his potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain evolve. The Nigerian striker has been under scrutiny this summer, with a hefty €130 million release clause deterring clubs from pursuing him, particularly in the English Premier League.
Last week, PSG rekindled their interest in Osimhen, which had anticipated a pivotal week for the transfer’s progression. His agent was in Paris to facilitate negotiations, with PSG open to a player-plus-cash deal to bring him on board.
However, recent updates from Italy indicate that Osimhen is considering a longer stay at Napoli, particularly after encountering obstacles in his move to PSG. Reports from France suggest PSG is preoccupied with filling the void left by Kylian Mbappe. The club must first offload either Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo-Muani before proceeding with a deal for the Napoli star.
Despite negotiations, neither forward seems inclined to leave PSG, resulting in a standstill in talks for Osimhen’s transfer. Observers note that discussions between PSG and Napoli have cooled significantly, as the Ligue 1 side needs to part with a player before advancing.
