Queens-based soul singer duendita has officially announced the release of a new EP titled The Mind Is a Miracle, set to launch on September 27. This highly anticipated EP serves as a follow-up to their 2018 project, Direct Line to My Creator.
To give fans a taste of what’s to come, duendita has released a new single, "Born With Power," which showcases their collaborative efforts with close partner Noah Becker and pianist Paul Wilson. The track reflects duendita’s unique creative process, with inspiration coming during their European tour and further developed while traveling across the United States.
“The process of creating ‘Born With Power’ was incredibly collaborative,” duendita remarked. “We started conceptualizing the song while in our Airbnb, and it was exciting to perform it live for the first time just days later. The energy from those early performances significantly shaped the final version.”
Earlier this year, duendita made waves with their single "Planetary," marking their return after a two-year break, and it was accompanied by a visually striking music video. This track, along with "Feel," a collaboration with Joy Guidry, rounds out the lineup for the forthcoming EP.
In 2021, duendita also released two singles, "Open Eyes" and "Bio," and collaborated with Jamila Woods on the standout track "Tiny Garden." Additionally, they contributed to Wiki’s full-length album Half God.
