Lisa, a member of the K-pop sensation Blackpink, has just unveiled her latest solo single featuring Spanish music icon Rosalía titled “New Woman.” The song is accompanied by a vibrant music video inspired by the early 2000s, showcasing nostalgic elements like a flip phone and a large photocopier.
“New Woman” is produced by the renowned duo Max Martin and Ilya, with contributions from Tove Lo as a background vocalist and co-writer.
This release follows Lisa’s successful single “Rockstar,” which dropped in June under RCA Records and marked a significant step in her solo career. The accompanying visual for “Rockstar,” directed by Henry Scholfield, highlights intricate choreography and reached No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Excitingly, it was also announced that Lisa will make her acting debut in the upcoming third season of the acclaimed series The White Lotus.
Rosalía, fresh off the success of her 2022 studio album Motomami, remains active in the music scene. She has been touring and releasing singles such as “Despechá” and “LLYLM,” while also working on an EP with her former fiancé Rauw Alejandro. Recently, Rosalía collaborated with Björk on the track “Oral,” which supports legal efforts against foreign-owned salmon farming operations in Iceland.
