Last month, the Norwegian art-pop duo Smerz returned with their latest single, “A Thousand Lies.” Now, they have announced their highly anticipated album, Big City Life, set to be released on May 23. This marks their first traditional studio album since their debut, Believer, in 2021.
In a statement, Smerz shared insights into the new album, noting that “Some of the songs are pieces of advice to ourselves. Some are doorways into dreams. Some songs express secret wishes, while others are written for someone who is not here. Additionally, some tracks serve as predictions.”
The duo has also unveiled a new track from the album titled “You Got Time and I Got Money,” accompanied by a visually striking music video inspired by television specials, created in collaboration with Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø.
