ECNETNews proudly announces the launch of the 2025 Famous Amos Ingredients for Success (IFS) Entrepreneurs Initiative, spearheaded by Ferrero North America in partnership with the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. Now entering its fifth year, this esteemed program aims to provide essential financial support and resources for early-stage Black business owners. This year, IFS will distribute a total of $150,000 in grants, with three recipients each receiving $50,000, accompanied by mentorship and access to vital networking and educational resources.
The IFS initiative honors the legacy of Wally Amos, the founder of Famous Amos, and recognizes the unique qualities that define successful entrepreneurs. “Wally Amos was boldly original, and his vision and impact continue to shape the Famous Amos brand today,” said a spokesperson from the Famous Amos team. “Ingredients for Success pays tribute to our roots by empowering early-stage Black business owners to pursue their dreams, ultimately fostering a community where individuality and innovation can thrive.”
Shawn Amos, entrepreneur and son of Wally Amos, will serve as a judge for this year’s IFS awards. “Fifty years ago, my father turned his dream into reality and founded Famous Amos. Today, it stands as a globally recognized brand, and I’m honored to contribute to its ongoing evolution. It’s a privilege to judge the Ingredients for Success program this year. Many entrepreneurs deserve the opportunity to grow their businesses to their full potential, and IFS builds on my father’s legacy by providing the necessary resources to help dreams come true.”
To qualify for the IFS program, businesses must be at least 90% Black-owned, in operation for five years or less, based in the United States, and owned by individuals 21 years or older. Applications are currently open and can be submitted at the IFS website through April 23, 2025.
A distinguished panel of judges will review submissions, including:
- Shawn Amos – Entrepreneur and son of Wally Amos
- Steve Canal – Founder of ONE Venture Group and branding expert
- Brittany Rhodes – Founder of Math Equals Me and previous IFS winner
Since its inception in 2020, the IFS initiative has awarded $600,000 in grants to 12 business owners, driving economic empowerment for Black entrepreneurs. The program has supported a diverse range of businesses, from educational tools and nostalgic card games to initiatives focused on improving access to healthy food in underserved communities.
