In a bold statement, the newly elected Prime Minister has firmly rejected the idea of Canada becoming the 51st state of the United States, asserting, “Canada will never, ever… be a part of America in any way, shape, or form.”
The former governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England criticized the U.S. administration’s trade policies, accusing the President of attempting to undermine Canada’s economy through unjustified tariffs.
He cautioned that if these objectives were realized, it could lead to the erosion of Canada’s way of life. “The Americans want our resources, our water, our land, our country… If they succeeded, they would destroy our way of life,” he declared.
Addressing healthcare differences, he emphasized, “In America, healthcare is a big business… In Canada, it is a right.”
As he is set to be sworn in by the Governor General, the new Prime Minister is expected to announce plans for an early federal election, following the resignation of Justin Trudeau due to internal party pressures.
