Sony and Kojima Productions have officially announced that “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” is set to launch on June 26 for the PS5, priced at $70. Preorders for this highly anticipated sequel will commence on March 17.
A captivating 10-minute cinematic trailer has been unveiled, featuring the original song “To the Wilder” by Woodkid. The trailer highlights the talented cast bringing the game’s characters to life, including well-known actors such as Norman Reedus and Lea Seydoux.
The trailer culminates with a scene depicting a group of gunmen, accompanied by a narration reflecting on America’s historical gun culture. This imagery suggests a potential exploration of America’s fascination with firearms as a central theme in “Death Stranding 2.”
Fans who preorder the game will receive early access to the Quokka custom hologram, along with three exclusive Silver Skeleton leg attachments to enhance main character Sam Bridges’ abilities.
The Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $80, includes the full game, 48-hour early access, the Gold versions of the Silver Skeletons, an early unlock for the Level 1 MP Bullet Machine Gun, and three collectible patches.
For collectors, the Collector’s Edition offers everything included in the Deluxe Edition, along with unique items such as a 15″ Magellan Man Statue, a Dollman figurine, art cards, and a letter from Hideo Kojima, all presented in a distinctive collector’s box for $230. Note that this edition does not include a physical copy of the game.
Following the release of “Death Stranding 2,” Kojima Productions will shift focus to new projects, including OD and Physint, which were reportedly affected by the recent SAG-AFTRA strike.
