PORTLAND, Ore. — Police in Oregon are collaborating with federal authorities to investigate gunfire incidents at a Tesla dealership in Tigard, near Portland, marking a troubling trend of vandalism against the company’s retail locations.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the shooting, which occurred around 1:46 a.m. while the building was unoccupied. Surveillance footage revealed that at least seven shots were fired, damaging three vehicles and breaking several windows. Notably, one bullet penetrated an office wall and struck a computer monitor.
The Tigard Police Department has confirmed that they are working in conjunction with the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to ensure a comprehensive investigation. As of now, there are no leads on the suspect involved.
This incident follows a recent case in Colorado, where federal prosecutors charged an individual for similar acts of vandalism against a Tesla dealership, including the use of Molotov cocktails and inflammatory graffiti.
Additionally, earlier this month, a suspect was arrested in Salem, Oregon, linked to two Molotov cocktail incidents at a Tesla dealership. This ongoing pattern of violence raises concerns for the safety of Tesla locations nationwide.
