Mr. Azeez Oshoala, the brother of renowned six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year and Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala, has officially announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of Ikorodu Local Government. He will be contesting under the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State.
In a statement released on Saturday, Oshoala, who is a media entrepreneur, emphasized the importance of youth in leadership, citing their strength, energy, and innovative spirit as vital assets for effective governance.
During his declaration event at his Ikorodu campaign office, Oshoala stated, “I have consulted widely with my leaders and stakeholders about the need for support to become the next chairman of Ikorodu Local Government. This mission aims to tap into the potentials for greatness and transformation within our community. My intention is to serve my people; it is not a do-or-die ambition nor a quest for power or monetary gains.”
He pledged to introduce transformative programs and initiatives that will significantly benefit all residents and natives of Ikorodu. Oshoala holds two Master’s degrees from reputable international institutions and is affiliated with several professional organizations.
