Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy Set for English Release on Multiple Platforms
In an exciting announcement for fans of dungeon crawling RPGs, Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy, the latest installment in the renowned Mado Monogatari series, is confirmed for an official English release. This new entry is set to launch on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and Steam later this year, with preorders currently available for $50.
Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy invites players to engage in top-down dungeon crawling gameplay as they explore randomly generated dungeons, battle iconic monsters like the Puyo blobs, collect treasures, and enhance Fia’s skills. The game also features a magic academy that acts as a central hub, where players can interact with NPCs, engage in minigames, and craft weapons. Both English and French text options will be included, alongside captivating Japanese voice acting.
As of now, the standard edition is the only version announced, with the physical edition available on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4. Digital preorders are also open on various platforms.
The Mado Monogatari series has a rich history, tracing back to its origins in 1990 on the MSX and PC-98. Initially launched as a first-person dungeon crawler akin to classic titles, the series has since evolved into different styles, including the unique gameplay found in Fia and the Wondrous Academy. Remarkably, this marks only the second Mado Monogatari game to receive an English localization, following Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God, which made its debut in North America in 2014 and was later ported to PC.
For those eager to dive into the series or revisit previous titles, Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God is also available for $20 on Steam.
