The Marvel Nova series is still alive, despite recent developments.
In March 2024, Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum revealed that a long-anticipated Nova project was in “really early development.” By December 2024, it was announced that Edward Allen Bernero had been appointed as the writer and showrunner for the MCU Nova series.
However, reports surfaced earlier this week indicating that the development of Nova is currently paused as the project has been deprioritized by the studio.
Sources emphasized that while these projects were never officially greenlit, they may still see the light of day in the future. The studio has simply refocused its priorities at this time.
Latest Update on Marvel’s Nova Series
Recent insights suggest that the Nova series is likely to move forward, though not until next year.
Rumors indicate that the show may star Brandon Sklenar, who has been linked to the role of Richard Rider for some time. Sklenar recently commented on the speculation, mentioning plans to meet with Marvel Studios executives.
Sklenar is recognized for his role as Brent in 2022’s Emily the Criminal and has upcoming appearances in various projects, including Blumhouse Productions’ Drop and the series 1923. He has also featured in popular shows like New Girl and Westworld.
No official announcements or confirmations from Marvel Studios regarding the Nova series have been made as of now.
