Producer Sana Amanat has recently discussed the potential return of Elodie Yung as Elektra in the highly anticipated series Daredevil: Born Again. This conversation comes on the heels of Jennifer Garner’s reprisal of the character in the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
Elodie Yung first captured the audience’s attention as Elektra Natchios in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2, which premiered in March 2016, followed by her appearance in The Defenders. With many familiar faces returning for the new Daredevil series, fans are eagerly hoping for her return as well.
Possibility of Elektra and the Hand in Daredevil: Born Again
During a recent interview, Sana Amanat addressed the possibility of Elodie Yung’s Elektra making a return, alongside the enigmatic Hand organization, in the upcoming Daredevil series.
Amanat expressed that the idea of bringing back Elektra was very much on their minds, stating, “One hundred percent it’s in the back of our heads. Eventually, we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that.” Elektra’s character played a significant role in the Netflix iteration of Daredevil, particularly her romantic involvement with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock.
In a previous interview, Charlie Cox described Elektra as “the most exciting, the most dangerous” character, highlighting the complexity of their relationship as both “wonderful and terrible” at the same time.
Elodie Yung has also expressed her enthusiasm to reprise her role in Daredevil: Born Again, stating in a recent discussion, “I would love that. It’s so funny because my fans are like, ‘Can you come back?’ and I’m like, ‘Ask Mr. Marvel,’ because I would gladly replay this part. She’s fierce. She’s a sociopath. She’s so much fun.”
