Bandung, ECNETNews – Persib Bandung is in a strong position to secure the Liga 1 championship this season. The 2-2 draw against Persija Jakarta at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium solidified their spot at the top of the league table.
With 50 points from 23 matches, Persib holds a nine-point lead over second-placed Persebaya Surabaya and is ahead by ten points from both Dewa United and Persija Jakarta.
However, team captain Marc Klok urges caution. “I prefer to take it one match at a time. We can’t look too far ahead. We need to focus on each game individually,” Klok stated. “After a match, we can rest and celebrate, but for now, we must treat every game as crucial.”
This weekend, Persib faces a challenging match against Madura United in their 24th-week fixture at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Despite Madura being in the relegation zone, Klok emphasizes the difficulty of every game.
“Every match will be tough; all teams are strong, and we need to concentrate on our own performance,” he remarked.
The recent draw against Persija serves as added motivation for Persib as they strive for victory against Madura United. “Getting a point away is a decent result. We must now focus on Madura and treat the remaining matches as finals. Our spirit is high,” Klok added.
David Da Silva Ready to Deliver Goals
David Da Silva has proven his worth as a key goal scorer. His clever finish against Persija helped Persib avoid defeat, ending the match at 2-2.
Scoring with a skillful chip in the 71st minute, the Brazilian striker remains committed to his role. “As a striker, my job is to score. I work hard to showcase my best abilities and contribute to Persib’s success,” he noted.
This season has been the toughest for Da Silva, who faced several challenges including injuries and health issues that often relegated him to the bench. “It’s been hard to make a comeback. This is the most difficult season I’ve experienced with Persib,” he reflected.
Nevertheless, his condition is gradually improving, allowing him to be ready for the crucial remaining matches. “Now we’re in a good moment with eleven games left, and I’m confident we’ll continue with positive results. I aim to score more goals and help the team secure three points,” he concluded.
Da Silva is determined to support Persib in their upcoming clash against Madura United. “I feel strong, my body is ready, and I’m focused on achieving victory,” he said.
