Beginning August 16, HBO Max subscribers will be able to enjoy the highly anticipated Rick and Morty: The Anime. This unique adaptation finds Rick indulging in leisure activities within a fantastical realm nestled between multiverses. Meanwhile, Summer and Space Beth engage in a fierce battle against the Galactic Federation, while Morty unexpectedly finds himself enchanted by a mysterious girl, who he soon learns harbors a temporal secret.
The suspense continues on August 18 with the release of Chimp Crazy, a groundbreaking documentary that follows Tonia Haddix, a former nurse-turned-exotic animal broker, who claims the title of the “Dolly Parton of chimps.” The film sheds light on her daily life caring for captive animals, highlighting the complex relationship she forms with one chimpanzee that draws scrutiny from authorities and animal rights advocates.
Additionally, viewers can look forward to the action-adventure film The Legend of Tarzan, which also premieres this week.
The Legend of Tarzan features Alexander Skarsgård in the titular role and is directed by David Yates. Based on the classic tale by Edgar Rice Burroughs, it portrays Tarzan’s transition to a life of luxury in London alongside Jane Porter, before he is compelled to return to the jungle to investigate a colonial mining operation.
