A shocking incident has emerged from Prakasam district, where a 57-year-old woman is accused of murdering her son, allegedly out of frustration with his behavior. Police reports indicate that K Lakshmi Devi is believed to have killed her 35-year-old son, K Shyam Prasad, on February 13, with the assistance of relatives.
According to Prakasam Superintendent of Police, AR Damodar, the motivation behind the crime stems from Prasad’s troubling conduct, which allegedly included indecent behavior towards various relatives across multiple cities, including Bengaluru, Khammam, and Hyderabad. Authorities claim that Prasad, who was unmarried, had even made attempts to assault his maternal aunts.
The heinous act involved dismembering Prasad’s body into five pieces using a sharp weapon, possibly an axe. His remains were subsequently stuffed into three sacks and disposed of in the Nakalagandi canal located in Cumbum village.
Police have launched a manhunt for the accused individuals, who are currently at large and facing charges under relevant legal provisions. Investigations into this tragic event are ongoing as authorities work to bring the perpetrators to justice.
