A significant fire erupted at the Sun Metro Bicentennial Council Transit Operations Center near El Paso International Airport, injuring five individuals and creating a massive plume of black smoke that spread across the city. This incident occurred on Tuesday in El Paso, Texas, located on the U.S.-Mexico border.
While the cause of the fire remains undetermined, over 100 firefighters were dispatched to combat the blaze, as stated by El Paso Fire Department Deputy Chief Robert Arvizu. The extent of people inside the affected building, which suffered structural collapse, is still unknown. However, authorities successfully brought the fire under control by mid-afternoon.
Despite the severity of the fire, operations at El Paso International Airport continued without disruption, confirmed a city spokesperson.
