Ben Stiller is headlining a new hourlong dramedy series titled *The Band* in development at HBO.
What We Know About *The Band*
This exciting series, created by Sarah Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, the minds behind the popular TBS comedy *Search Party*, centers around Stiller’s character, Oscar, a talent mogul tasked with launching a boy band.
Bliss and Rogers will act as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Stiller and several prominent figures in the industry.
This role marks a significant moment for Stiller, as it stands as one of his rare lead roles in a television series. His previous lead television experience was in his own sketch comedy show, *The Ben Stiller Show*, back in 1990. Though he has made guest appearances in various television projects, including *Arrested Development* and *Curb Your Enthusiasm*, this new series marks a noteworthy return to the small screen.
Stiller is celebrated for his extensive film career, featuring blockbuster comedies such as *There’s Something About Mary*, *Zoolander*, *Tropic Thunder*, and the *Night at the Museum* series. In addition to his acting achievements, he has also made his mark as a director, taking the helm of projects such as Apple TV+’s *Severance*.
