The Assam Police have initiated legal action against several prominent influencers, including YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Samay Raina, for allegedly promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions during a recent episode of a popular YouTube show.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced via social media that influencers Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija are also implicated in the FIR due to their involvement in promoting inappropriate content.
The complaint that triggered the investigation was filed just hours before the announcement. This action underscores the increasing scrutiny of digital content in the region and highlights concerns regarding the impact of online influencers on societal norms.
