No fewer than 9,772 new undergraduate students were matriculated into the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, during a ceremony held on Thursday for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The announcement was made by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Razaq Kalilu, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Prof. Adepoju Ogunkunle. The Vice-Chancellor highlighted that the impressive figure of 9,772 students represents qualified individuals from 35 states across the nation who successfully completed the screening and registration processes for various academic programs within the university’s 13 faculties.
In his address, Kalilu encouraged the new students to exhibit diligence in their studies and to fully comply with the institution’s rules and regulations to avoid any disciplinary actions. He emphasized that LAUTECH operates as a non-residential university but is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all students.
“Security surveillance devices are being deployed at all student residence locations to monitor activities and deter any undesirable group behaviors,” Kalilu stated.
Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor announced a scholarship for Ayoola Olamide, a student from the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, who achieved the distinction of being the Best 100-level student in the 2023/2024 academic session.
