Recently, Google’s webpage dedicated to “Belonging” had emphasized targeted actions to promote disability inclusion, gender equality, LGBTQ+ inclusion, racial equality, and veteran inclusion. However, the content has now been modified to provide more generic statements about inclusivity.
The webpage that once detailed key issues of focus has been updated to vague commitments to represent the diverse user base. The new messaging includes a statement on the importance of collaboration among talented individuals to create products for a global audience. Notably, the title of Google’s Chief Diversity Officer has been changed in updates, reflecting a shift in focus.
In a memo, Google’s HR chief stated the company’s commitment to hiring top talent and fostering a fair work environment. She emphasized that the company regularly reviews its programs to ensure alignment with recent legal requirements and executive orders.
