Fatal Shooting at Ohio Cosmetics Warehouse Leaves One Dead, Five Injured
NEW ALBANY, Ohio – A tragic shooting incident occurred Tuesday night at a cosmetics warehouse in New Albany, resulting in one death and five injuries, according to local officials.
Victims were promptly transferred to medical facilities, while reports indicate that the shooter is no longer present at the scene, stated a spokesperson for the city.
New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones characterized the event as a “targeted type of attack” and reassured the public that there is currently no ongoing threat.
“We have identified a person of interest and are actively working to locate them for custody,” Chief Jones mentioned in a press briefing. A firearm was located at the site of the incident.
The shooting transpired within a facility that produces cosmetics and toiletries; however, authorities have not disclosed the motive behind the attack or the condition of the injured individuals.
Approximately 150 individuals were evacuated to a nearby building following the incident, as confirmed by Jones.
