A notable event has emerged from Bhopal, where a Muslim poet has recently composed a ghazal in honor of Lord Ram, receiving accolades from the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude in a letter to the poet, commending his contribution to the cultural fabric of the nation.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of such endeavors, stating that the contributions of individuals like the poet are instrumental in enhancing national pride and fostering progress. He remarked, “With a sense of pride in our rich heritage, we are moving towards building a grand and developed India in the Amrit Kaal. I am confident that the efforts being made by citizens like you will take the nation to new heights.”
Furthermore, the Prime Minister lauded the poet for illustrating his devotion to Lord Ram through his work, which was crafted to commemorate the first anniversary of the Pran-Pratishtha at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
In an interview, the poet reflected on Lord Ram’s profound influence on his life since childhood, noting that Ram’s ideals—whether as a son, brother, husband, hermit, king, or father—remain unmatched.
“Shri Ram exemplifies the ideal brother, son, and husband—his character sets the benchmark for what one should admire in a man. Every man sees a reflection of himself in him. His captivating character makes it impossible to speak a word against him,” he stated.
When questioned about potential opposition from community leaders regarding his ghazal on a Hindu deity, the poet expressed confidence that such challenges would not deter him. He acknowledged that backlash can arise in today’s climate, especially when phrases like Vande Mataram are mentioned, but underscored his upbringing, which instilled in him a strong conviction to embrace such expressions. He remains hopeful for a future where acceptance prevails.
