Four soldiers stationed at the Myoung Barracks in the Morocco area of Shomolu, Lagos, are feared dead, and several others have been injured following a collision with a suspected drunk driver. This tragic incident occurred during the soldiers’ routine morning road jog early on Friday.
Eyewitness accounts reveal that a Toyota vehicle, occupied by three young men, was speeding when it struck the soldiers. After the crash, the occupants attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended by local residents and subjected to physical assault, with reports of their vehicle being vandalized.
One eyewitness recounted that amid the chaos, one of the young men sustained a stab wound. This incident is raising alarm among local residents who are now fearful of their safety.
Authorities from the Army Public Relations and the Lagos State Police Command have yet to respond to inquiries regarding the incident as of the time of this report.
