ECNETNews is excited to announce the release of the official trailer for Until Dawn, a gripping live-action horror film inspired by the popular video game from PlayStation Studios.
The storyline follows Clover and her friends as they embark on a chilling quest to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of her sister, Melanie, one year earlier. Their journey takes them to a desolate valley, where they explore an abandoned visitor center, only to be hunted down by a masked assailant. Horrifically dispatched one by one, they awaken to relive the nightmarish events repeatedly, each time facing an even more terrifying version of the killer. As hope fades, the group must confront the harsh reality that their chances are dwindling, and the only way to escape this deadly cycle is to survive until dawn.
What to Expect from the Until Dawn Trailer
The trailer creatively showcases the movie’s unique take on the choice-driven dynamics of the original video game. Unlike the game where decisions lead to diverse outcomes, the film presents a time-loop scenario in which characters reset their fate after each death. The only route to freedom is to endure until morning.
The cast features Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare, who lends his voice to the character of Dr. Hill from the video game.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, known for his work on Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, the film brings to life a screenplay penned by Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman. The production team includes Sandberg, Dauberman, Mia Maniscalco, Lotta Losen, Roy Lee, Asad Qizilbash, and Carter Swan, with executive producers Charles Miller and Hermen Hulst.
Mark your calendars! Until Dawn is set to hit theaters on April 25, 2025.
