The Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) 2025 is poised to engage audiences with an exciting array of literary dialogues, cultural interactions, and artistic showcases. Slated to take place at Sattva Knowledge City in Hitec City, Hyderabad, from January 24 to 26, 2025, the festival offers three days of enriching and thought-provoking experiences.
Key Themes and Segments at HLF 2025
This year’s festival features a comprehensive schedule filled with an assortment of sessions and activities. Participants can delve into themes spanning literature, storytelling, climate change, science, indigenous languages, and cultural heritage. Notable segments include Kaavya Dhaara, Youngistaan Nukkad, Nanha Nukkad, alongside workshops, exhibitions, and interactive events like Meet My Book.
The festival will host renowned figures from cinema, journalism, and literature, enhancing its vibrant agenda. The opening plenary session, titled A Life in Cinema, will feature a discussion with veteran actor Shabana Azmi and HLF Festival director Amita Desai. Another plenary session, Viewfinder: A Memoir, will engage actor Amol Palekar and Sandhya Gokhale in conversation with filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti.
Additionally, actor Huma Qureshi will discuss her work Zeba: An Accidental Superhero with Kinnera Murthy. Esteemed journalists Sreenivasan Jain and Mariyam Alavi will address Love Jihad and Other Fictions: Simple Facts to Counter Viral Falsehoods. Rajdeep Sardesai will explore political dynamics in The Election that Surprised India, accompanied by Sunita Reddy. Furthermore, former RBI Governor Duvvuri Subbarao will share insights from his memoir Just a Mercenary? Notes from My Life and Career, in dialogue with Suchitra Shenoy.
The festival will culminate with the Ajay Gandhi Memorial Valedictory session, Values of the Indian Constitution, featuring notable speakers Harsh Mander and Rajmohan Gandhi.
