Sony has revealed the most-downloaded PlayStation 5 games of December 2024, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 once again securing the top position. The title continues to dominate the gaming landscape, attracting players month after month.
In December, EA Sports and 2K Games made a strong impact with titles such as NBA 2K25, EA Sports Madden NFL 25, and EA Sports FC 25 landing in the top five. A notable mention in this mix is Grand Theft Auto 5, which holds the interest of players as anticipation builds for Grand Theft Auto 6, set to release later this year.
Phasmophobia, which held the second spot in November, fell to seventh place in December. Other popular titles in the top ten included Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Astro Bot.
In the PS4 category, Red Dead Redemption 2 reclaimed the number one position, overcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. While some games appeared on both the PS5 and PS4 charts, many were classic titles such as Batman: Arkham Knight and God of War.
Marvel Rivals quickly became the leader in PlayStation 5’s free-to-play games during its debut month, surpassing Fortnite in popularity. Additionally, Beat Saber claimed the title of the most-downloaded PSVR 2 game as 2024 came to a close, although no PSVR games were featured in December’s rankings.
