The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has officially approved four airlines to facilitate the airlift of pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj.
This announcement was made through a statement issued by the commission on Sunday, detailing the selection of Air Peace Limited, Fly-Nas, Max Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Limited from a pool of 11 applicants.
The selection process was overseen by a 32-member Aviation Screening Committee inaugurated on November 26, 2024, under the leadership of the commission’s chairman.
Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman expressed satisfaction with the outcome, confirming that the Presidency sanctioned the four airlines as the official carriers for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj.
These airlines were chosen based on a thorough review, which included input from several key stakeholders, such as representatives from the State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and various agencies within the federal government.
Additionally, three cargo carriers have been approved for Hajj operations: Aglow Aviation Support Services Limited, Cargozeal Technology Limited, and Qualla Investment Limited. The commission has urged these selected companies to fulfill their commitments efficiently.
In a related advancement, the 2025 Hajj Memorandum of Understanding was established between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia on January 12, 2025, in Jeddah. Key Nigerian officials, including representatives from the Senate and House Committees on Foreign Affairs and Muslim Pilgrimage, were present to mark this significant agreement.
The Saudi delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, ensuring robust collaboration for the upcoming pilgrimage.
