Blondshell, the rising alt-pop sensation, has officially announced the release of her anticipated sophomore album, If You Asked for a Picture, set to drop on May 2. This follow-up to her debut album, released in 2023, showcases her evolving artistry and features the new single “T&A,” accompanied by a thought-provoking music video that combines the lives of three men and their rescue dogs to draw parallels.
Reflecting on recent events, Blondshell expressed deep concern for her hometown of Los Angeles, currently facing significant challenges due to ongoing fires. “The city I’ve lived in for ten years is burning, and the scale of the loss is incomprehensible,” she stated. Despite the gravity of the situation, she emphasized the importance of music and art as sources of comfort amid distress.
If You Asked for a Picture boasts a production collaboration with Yves Rothman, drawing its title inspiration from Mary Oliver’s renowned poem “Dogfish.” The album will include twelve original tracks centered around themes of love, family, and friendship. Alongside “T&A,” the album follows her previously released single “What’s Fair” and the collaboration with Bully titled “Docket,” released in 2024.
The official tracklist for If You Asked for a Picture includes:
01 Thumbtack
