Sharge Management Co is making strides to expand its client base by targeting logistics and express delivery services, a strategic move to boost electric vehicle (EV) adoption across these sectors.
The company aims to service 10,000 EVs, which include freight vehicles, taxis, and passenger cars, by the year 2030. This ambitious growth plan was highlighted by the managing director of Sharge Management.
Given the expansive nature of logistics businesses and their extensive network of drivers, Sharge Management sees a prime opportunity for increasing new client partnerships.
“We are actively pursuing collaborations with large-scale logistics and express delivery companies, and we anticipate establishing these partnerships soon,” a company spokesperson indicated.
A notable partnership has already been formed with a major on-demand delivery service to provide charging services for its EV drivers.
In Thailand, there are approximately 1.2 million vehicles active in logistics and parcel delivery, yet only about 0.05% of these are electric vehicles, highlighting a significant opportunity for growth, as reported by the Department of Land Transport.
In comparison, EVs constitute 2.91% of the 77,288 passenger cars, taxis, and other types of delivery vehicles currently in use.
The logistics and transportation sectors in Thailand are expected to continue their growth trajectory, with the parcel delivery market alone valued at around 107 billion baht.
As fuel prices fluctuate, it is anticipated that more drivers will gravitate towards electric mobility solutions to alleviate their financial burdens and support national efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Switching to EVs can significantly lower carbon dioxide emissions, which average 211 grams per kilometer for traditional fuel-powered vehicles.
Furthermore, adopting electric vehicles could offer motorists savings on fuel costs, averaging a reduction of 175 baht per 100 kilometers.
