Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has officially launched 10 newly constructed asphalt roads in the metropolis, a strategic initiative designed to enhance connectivity, security, and economic opportunities for residents, farmers, and business owners.
The unveiling ceremony on Tuesday marks a pivotal moment in the governor’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and elevating the quality of life for citizens in Kaduna.
Governor Sani expressed pride in the completion of these projects, which began in February, stating, “These completed roads will significantly improve access for residents, farmers, and business owners. They will cut down travel time, bolster security, and stimulate trade, ultimately fostering greater social interaction among our citizens.”
He emphasized the fundamental role well-constructed roads play in stimulating economic growth and called upon stakeholders and community members to actively participate in the maintenance of these crucial infrastructures. “Quality roads are vital to economic activity, linking people and businesses to essential markets, schools, and healthcare services. It is imperative that we work together to ensure their longevity and effective use,” Sani noted.
The newly commissioned roads include Garba Ja Abdulkadir Road, Bissau Road, Unguwan Muazu Township Roads, Water Intake Road off Yakowa Road, Yakubu Gowon Residential Layout Road, Kawo Layout Roads off ‘Yan Awaki Road, and the State House roads network. Additional routes include the Stadium Roundabout to Command Junction road, Residential Layout off Gobarau Road, Residential Layout off Kinshasha Road, Sultan-Surame Road, and Ohinoyi Road.
Looking ahead, Sani announced plans to inaugurate 12 more roads in the second quarter of 2025, which includes a 5.525km asphalt road connecting Airport Road to Tudun Biri Community. He also highlighted a groundbreaking ceremony for 70 new road projects that will cover 770 kilometers across the three senatorial districts of Kaduna State.
“While many projects have already seen successful completion, others are moving forward as planned. We remain dedicated to fulfilling our promise of transforming the state’s infrastructure and enhancing the lives of our citizens,” he affirmed.
