A tableau showcasing tourist attractions in Melkote was featured in the procession during the inauguration of the 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Mandya on December 19, 2024.
The Kannada Sahitya Parishat has officially announced the hosting of the 88th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Ballari next year. This decision emerged from the executive committee meeting held on December 21, 2024.
During the meeting, various districts, including Ballari, Kolar, Yadgir, and Ramanagara, expressed interest in hosting the prestigious Sahitya Sammelana. Ultimately, all committee members reached a consensus to bring the event to Ballari district.
This marks an important moment as Ballari will be hosting the Sahitya Sammelana for the first time in 66 years, with previous events held in 1926, 1938, and 1958.
The current Sammelana taking place in Mandya is set to conclude on December 22, 2024.
