The lawmaker representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sesi Whingan, has launched a new initiative aimed at enhancing the educational environment in public primary schools across Badagry. The initiative, dubbed the “Strategic Educational Empowerment Programme,” focuses on providing essential educational materials to schools in the region.
During the inauguration, Whingan, represented by Mr. Wale Adesina, emphasized the importance of equipping public schools in Badagry with much-needed resources. Sponsored by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, the program is designed to uplift the educational experience from the ground up.
“This initiative is pivotal in ensuring that primary school pupils have access to the necessary tools to excel academically,” Whingan stated. The program will distribute various teaching aids, including whiteboards, chalkboards, exercise books, school bags, food flasks, stationery sets, and packs of pencils, in collaboration with SMEDAN.
All public primary schools within the Badagry Federal Constituency will receive a fair share of these materials, according to the lawmaker. Adesina praised Whingan’s commitment to the educational development of Badagry, noting that this effort reflects a significant investment in the future of the region’s youth.
Symbolic presentations of the educational materials were made to representatives from several primary schools during the event. The initiative will benefit no fewer than 57 primary schools and 16 secondary schools in Badagry, with contributions including 2,000 whiteboards, 300 blackboards, 200 dusters, 350 staplers, and 1,000 scientific calculators, alongside thousands of school bags and mathematical sets.
Mrs. Modinat Adebayo from the Badagry Local Government Education Authority expressed gratitude for the generous support, assuring that the resources would be utilized effectively to improve overall educational quality and empower students toward academic success.
