Footage has emerged from Russia’s Southern Transport Prosecutor’s Office illustrating a Russian oil tanker that has split in two and is sinking amid severe storm conditions, leaving visible streaks of oil in the surrounding waters.
This incident involved one of two Russian vessels, each carrying 29 crew members, which have sustained significant damage while operating in the Black Sea, according to Russian authorities.
Tragically, reports indicate that at least one crew member has lost their life, while the second vessel has reportedly drifted after suffering extensive damage.
The occurrence took place in the Kerch Strait, the waterway that separates Russia from Crimea, a region that has been under Russian control since its illegal annexation in 2014.
