Nintendo is set to enhance its classic games catalog with the addition of the beloved title, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service on August 9.
Originally launched for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team is a roguelike adventure that allows players to assume the role of a human who has inexplicably transformed into a Pokémon. Players join forces with a partner Pokémon to form a rescue team, exploring dungeons and undertaking various missions to assist other Pokémon while uncovering the mystery behind their transformation.
This classic title was initially released alongside its counterpart, Blue Rescue Team, for the Nintendo DS. Both games were later remade for Nintendo Switch in 2020 as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX.
Upon its release, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon will be available exclusively through the Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack plan. This premium tier provides all the benefits of the base plan, while also offering access to select Nintendo Switch DLC and a curated library of classic games, including Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis titles.
A standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription is priced at $20 per year, while the Expansion Pack membership is available for $50 annually. Additionally, an annual family plan is offered at $80, accommodating up to eight Nintendo Accounts across multiple systems.
