In an exciting collaboration, Romy from The xx has joined forces with Sampha to release their latest single, “I’m on Your Team.” The accompanying video was filmed at Not/Nowhere, a renowned London-based artist workers’ cooperative, showcasing the creative vibe of the city.
Romy describes “I’m on Your Team” as an honest and heartfelt love song. “It reflects our journey together; we’ve experienced magic and dreaminess, but we’ve also faced challenges. Now, I’m committed to putting in the work,” she explained. The track was co-produced by Thomas Bartlett, adding depth to the collaboration.
Sampha emphasized the importance of teamwork in relationships, stating, “Being part of a team means showing up for one another, which can lead to an even stronger connection.”
Romy recently made waves with her debut solo album, Mid Air, released in 2023, and collaborated with her bandmates Jamie xx and Oliver Sim on the track “Waited All Night.”
Sampha also released his album Lahai this year, along with a deluxe edition that features three new tracks, further demonstrating his evolution as an artist.
