A recent social media post has sparked significant attention regarding the sale of Koh Kham island in Trat, Thailand, which is listed at a staggering 1.8 billion baht. The post claims that this “private island,” deemed the most beautiful in Trat, includes incomplete resort houses as part of the deal.
The area available covers approximately 10 rai, showcasing stunning features such as crystal-clear seawater, a pristine beach extending about 300 meters, and striking volcanic rock formations. This picturesque island is conveniently located about 35 kilometers from mainland Trat and just one kilometer from Koh Mak.
In response to the sale announcement, the local tourism authority emphasized that visitors do not need to spend 1.8 billion baht to experience the beauty of Koh Kham. Travelers can access the island via motorboat or kayak from Koh Mak, allowing them to explore the remarkable volcanic rock formations, coral reefs, and breathtaking landscapes.
Notably, Koh Kham is known to be a volcanic crater formed hundreds of millions of years ago. However, the island’s owner faced legal troubles in 2014 due to allegations of forest and sea encroachment, which involved constructing a 148-meter bridge and a 480-meter embankment.
