In a significant escalation of operations against Naxal groups, security forces in Chhattisgarh have reported over 300 fatalities, more than 1,100 arrests, and nearly 1,000 surrenders in the last 13 months.
The state government has empowered security forces with full operational freedom and enhanced capabilities, including advanced weaponry and intelligence networks. This strategic approach has led to targeted operations that successfully neutralized or captured several Naxal leaders.
Officials state, “The government’s policy is clear — surrender or face action.”
Coordinated efforts from Chhattisgarh Police and central agencies have increased operational efficiency, focusing on intelligence-driven strikes in Naxal-dominated areas.
Legal measures have been implemented to inhibit the return of those apprehended to militant groups. The government is also facilitating the reintegration of surrendered Naxals into society through dedicated rehabilitation programs.
COMMITMENT TO DEVELOPMENT IN NAXAL-AFFECTED AREAS
Linking security operations with developmental initiatives, the government is striving to diminish the influence of Naxal factions through economic advancement.
Efforts to enhance infrastructure, including roads, communication networks, education, and healthcare, are underway in insurgency-affected regions. These initiatives aim to bolster access to government services and integrate tribal communities into the mainstream economy.
Furthermore, the government is introducing employment and skill development programs for youth in these areas, providing viable alternatives to armed resistance.
