Klein pushes musical boundaries with her latest release, Marked, an unsettling collection that seamlessly transitions between ambient drone, jazzy undertones, doom metal, and fragmented hip-hop rhythms. This avant-garde experience is akin to navigating a haunted house where dissociative sound collages and haunting vocal snippets serve as both artistic commentary and a means of escape, fitting for both a cozy night in or an immersive art installation.
Wand Unveils New Album: Vertigo
Los Angeles-based rock band Wand returns as a quartet with their captivating new album, Vertigo. Band members Evan Backer, Evan Burrows, Robbie Cody, and Cory Hanson recorded the album in their own studio, compiling over 50 hours of creatively improvised sessions. The band’s hands-on approach extended to production and mixing, showcasing a rich string and wind arrangement that features a variety of instruments including viola, cello, flute, trumpet, and saxophone. The first singles, “Smile” and “JJ,” were released earlier this year, marking Vertigo as their first full-length album since Laughing Matter in 2019.
