This year marks a significant change in the race for the title of the Palatinate Wine Queen: for the first time, male candidates were allowed to compete. Ultimately, tradition prevailed as 26-year-old Denise Stripf emerged victorious.
In a thrilling finale for the Palatinate Wine Queen title, Denise Stripf, a 26-year-old social worker from Bad Dürkheim, was crowned the new grape monarch of Germany’s second-largest wine region. The competition gained heightened attention this year with the introduction of a male candidate.
The election, which was closely watched across regions, included 28-year-old Manuel Reuther from Forst as the male contender. However, he was unable to capture the crown. Additionally, Lara Karr, 23, from Weisenheim am Berg also did not succeed in claiming the title, which dates back to the first election in the region of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1931.
A jury assessed candidates based on their expertise and eloquence to determine the 86th Palatinate Wine Queen. Denise Stripf will represent the interests of the Palatinate for the coming year. Both Manuel Reuther and Lara Karr received a silver lapel pin as recognition for their participation and will support the queen in future events as “Wine Nobility.”
