Ivy’s last collection of original music, All Hours, released in 2011, remains a significant entry in their discography. Last year marked a revival for the band as they reissued their debut album, Realistic, along with their sophomore effort, Apartment Life. Additionally, they introduced a brand-new single titled “Sleeping Late,” showcasing their continued creativity.
The music community was profoundly affected by the loss of Adam Schlesinger, who passed away from complications related to COVID-19 in April 2020. Schlesinger, an iconic figure in music, was not only a member of Ivy but also renowned as part of Fountains of Wayne, Tinted Windows, and Fever High. His contributions extend beyond bands; he crafted a diverse array of music for film and television, including the Oscar-nominated title track for the beloved Tom Hanks film, That Thing You Do!, as well as popular tracks from Josie and the Pussycats and numerous songs for the acclaimed TV series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. His impressive accolades include three Emmy Awards, one Grammy Award, and multiple nominations for Academy Awards, Tony Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. Schlesinger’s legacy was honored through various tributes, including a special covers album and reunions featuring Fountains of Wayne and members from That Thing You Do!.
